PHOTOTHERAPY

I. PHOTOTHERAPY WITH INFRARED RADIATION (LUMINA)

This treatment uses certain frequencies of light emitted to various injured parts of the body and, in addition to managing acute or chronic pain, it also helps the regeneration and repair of cells. It contributes to the strengthening of the metabolism and the immune system for the faster extermination of the germs and the elimination of the inflammations related to rheumatoid arthritis pains, vertebral arthritis, sciatica etc., while it has application in general medicine to combat various issues. Typical examples include: cervical syndrome, warts, sciatica, chronic dysplastic rheumatic diseases, arthritis, psoriasis. The treatment lasts about 15’ – 30’.

II. PHOTOTHERAPY WITH POLARISED LIGHT (BIOTRON)

The phototherapy system (Bioptron) bases its healing properties on polarised light, which produces a spectrum of electromagnetic radiation similar to that produced by the sun, but without ultraviolet radiation. Its effect is directed at those cells that have been damaged by various factors and no longer function properly. This form of treatment is adopted in the acute and chronic treatment of pain at all ages, in the rehabilitation of sports and musculoskeletal injuries/disorders respectively, in rheumatic diseases, in paediatrics, even in newborns, in dermatological diseases and in seasonal disorders (S.A.D – Seasonal Emotional Disorder), in acute and chronic inflammation. The treatment lasts about 15’ – 30’.
